Gift Aid makes it easy to make your donation worth more… without it costing you a penny.
Gift Aid is a scheme run by the UK government to boost the income of charities like Willowbrook Hospice. All you need to do is complete our short Gift Aid form and we can claim an extra 25p* from HM Revenue and Customs for every £1 you donate to us. No strings, no cost to you, its simple and means so much to us.
Gift Aid explained
If you make a donation and you tell us that you pay tax in the UK, we can claim back 25% from the Government. That’s 25p for every £1 you give.
Do I need to give you lots of personal information?
No, we only need your name and address including the full postcode. An email and/or telephone number is helpful to keep our costs down by saving on postage. We also ask for your date of birth but this is just for administrative purposes.
We promise we will never pass on your details to anyone else.
Will it cost me anything?
Absolutely not. You simply donate as normal and we will do the rest.
Anything else I need to know?
You must be a UK taxpayer in order for us to claim Gift Aid on your donation. This means you must pay enough income tax or capital gains tax to cover what we will claim from HMRC. If you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on your donations in that tax year it will be your responsibility to pay any difference. If you become a Gift Aid donor and later stop paying tax ( for example, if you stop working) it is important that you let us know.
Gift Aid can be claimed on individual and sponsorship donations made to Willowbrook Hospice.
Gift Aid applies only to ‘gifts’. It does not apply to activities where an entry fee has been charge or where people have entered a competition. This also extends to activities where the donor can’t be traced (such as giving to collection).
How to sign up to Gift Aid
All you have to do to sign up to Gift Aid is fill in the Gift Aid form and send it to us at: Fundraising Office, Willowbrook – The Living Well, Borough Road, St Helens WA10 3RN.
