Thank you to Rainford Cricket Club for donating a fantastic £1,500 after their charity walk which was split between Willowbrook Hospice and Andy Reid MBE – Standing Tall Foundation.
The club regularly fundraises for local charities, and decided they wanted to set themselves a daunting challenge for 2024 – an 82.4 mile relay walk in 24 hours over a 3.5 mile circuit around Rainford village.
They started the walk on Saturday 25th May, which continued throughout the night and finished a day later. The challenge was accomplished by cricket club players, members and supporters. Each lap of the 3.5 mile circuit around the village was to be completed in under an hour for the challenge to be successful which was aa true test of stamina and determination for all those taking part.
This is a fabulous achievement, we are so grateful to everyone who took part and those who supported the challenge!
